Welcome to 2026✨

Welcome to 2026✨

Happy New Year, and welcome to my very first blog post of 2026! I wanted to start the year by saying a huge thank you to everyone who supported my work over the Christmas period.

I had such a fantastic time attending craft fairs and markets in the run-up to Christmas, and I loved making and parcelling up all of my online orders, too. It was wonderful to meet so many lovely people in person at the craft fairs, chat about art, and see my illustrated prints and greeting cards finding new homes

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we move into the new year, I’m feeling excited and inspired about what’s to come.

Greeting Cards

One of my main goals for 2026 is to continue to create new greeting card designs. In fact, I’ve uploaded a brand new card design today, which you can see here:

Steam Train Birthday Card

This new design can be customised with your own text on the front, so you can add any name, any age or a completely different message if you’d like to send the card for a different occasion!

Pet Portrait Commissions

I’ll also be spending a lot of time working through my pet portrait commissions. Thank you to everyone who has ordered one from me! I’m currently fully booked until March, but if you’re thinking about commissioning a pet portrait, please feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to chat and can give you an estimated timescale.

Practising New Skills

This year, I’m also hoping to push myself creatively by practising pet portraits in different media, including oil painting and soft pastels. It’s something that I’ve been wanting to explore for a while, so I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to see how it goes… I’ll try to keep you updated.

Back to Miniatures and YouTube

I’m really looking forward to getting back into making weekly YouTube videos, too. If you’re new here, I make miniatures for my doll’s house and document the whole process… from tiny furniture to miniature details… over on my YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/@thelittlemouseshouse

I’d taken a break from making doll’s house miniatures over Christmas, because I was so busy at the craft fairs! However, I made a new miniature today… my first of 2026, so I’m hoping to make a new one each week!

If you’d like to take a look, here’s a link to my most recent miniature make (a miniature painting of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg, Germany, where I went travelling last year):

A Creative Year Ahead

I’m hoping that 2026 will be a lovely, creative year. I have my art group’s annual exhibition coming up in April, which I’m really looking forward to, and I’m hopeful that there will be some summer craft fairs in the months ahead as well.

Thank you, as always, for supporting my work, whether that’s through buying my art, watching my videos, or simply following along. I can’t wait to see what this year brings.

Here’s to a happy and creative 2026! 💛
