✨ A custom pet portrait can make a wonderful, unique and bespoke gift idea for a pet parent - it might be a special birthday gift or a thoughtful pet memorial gift to remember a treasured member of the family. Using your photographs for reference, I specialise in realistic, illustrated pet portraits, hand drawn digitally and printed on carefully selected quality 230gsm matte paper. This listing shows a tortoise portrait, but I welcome commissions of any animal. These portraits make heartfelt gifts or beautiful keepsakes to treasure forever. ✨

A little bit of information:

  •  I will hand draw your custom artwork using digital illustration before personally printing your special piece of art in my little studio in East Yorkshire, in the North of England.
  • I’d be excited to draw any type of pet - furry, feathered or scaly… I would love to draw your pet for you!
  • My art style combines realism and illustrative mark making.
  • Your bespoke art print will be size A4. It will be slotted into an 11”x14” mount and accompanied by a little certificate of authenticity.

✨ How to order your customised design:

  1. Before adding the custom pet portrait to your basket, simply click the ‘Upload Photos’ button to upload a between one and three photographs of your pet. I will use these photographs for reference when creating your bespoke pet illustration. (Further details about photograph requirements can be found below.)
  2. Once I’ve received your photographs, I will start to work on your custom illustration.
  3. Once the illustration is finished, I will begin the printing process and pop your commission in the post, ready to make its way to you.

If you have any questions, or if you’d like to discuss your commission before making an order, please do get in touch!

Timescale:

If you need a quick turnaround because you need your pet portrait for a special occasion, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your request. I will always take pride and care as I illustrate your beautiful pet, but I’ll also always endeavour to finish your illustration as quickly as possible.

Pet portraits of individual animals normally take me around 7 days to complete, but this timescale is an estimate only. Timescales will also vary depending on how many art commissions I am working on at the time. I’m always happy to discuss this with you before you make your order, so please get in touch if you have any questions.

📸 Photograph tips for the best portrait:

  • To help me to create the best possible portrait, please send clear, colour photographs of your pet (no blurriness where possible, please!). If I need anything else, I will get in touch to request additional images.
  • Photographs where I can see your pet’s eyes really clearly are especially helpful - thank you!

💫 Photo upload and privacy:

  • Please make sure that your photos only feature your pet - no people, please! This helps to protect everyone's privacy. If a photograph includes a person/people, unfortunately I won’t be able to use it and will delete it straight away.
  • Also, just a quick note: you’ll need to either be the owner of the photographs or have permission to share them with me. Thank you!
  • Your photographs are uploaded through a third-party app (Uploadly via Shopify). I don’t see your images until the upload is complete. Please check Uploadly and Shopify’s privacy policies for details on how your data is handled and stored during and after upload.
  • Once received, your images are stored on mu password protected devices and deleted after your portrait is finished. While I take care to protect your files, I appreciate your understanding that no system is 100% immune to digital risks.

Terms and conditions:

Just a quick note - the details below might sound a bit formal, but they’re here simply to make sure we both have the full details before starting the pet portrait commission. Thanks for taking a moment to read through the T&Cs! ☺️

By submitting an order for a custom pet portrait, you (the Commissioner) confirm that you understand and agree to the following Terms and Conditions. For the purposes of this agreement, ‘Artwork’ refers to any draft stages of the pet portrait commission and the final commissioned pet portrait.

Changes to the Artwork:

If changes to the portrait are requested whilst the work is in progress, the Artist will discuss with the Commissioner whether or not these changes can be actioned. Please note, it may not be possible to accommodate all requests.

If you wish to cancel your order after the drawing has been started, please be aware that payment will not be refunded as the Artist, Hayley Victoria, will have already started to work on your bespoke order.

If you would rather I didn’t use images of your commissioned piece of artwork, please let me know via email. Thank you.

Colours, quality and how your artwork is made:
After years of experimenting with different paper types and printing equipment to find the perfect texture and print quality, I now print my artwork on Marrutt 230gsm matte paper, chosen for its chalky feel and the way that it prints beautiful colours so that they are true to my original digital illustrations. Sometimes, the colours of printed artwork can differ slightly from what you can see on your screen (dependent on your screen settings and the lighting conditions at the time of taking the listing photographs). The wonderful thing about printing the artwork myself is that I can check the quality and colours as I make your artwork. Please rest assured that I will only ever send you a piece of art that I am happy with myself. I take great pride in making sure that you are receiving a piece of work that represents my original illustrations. 🤍

Please note:

When photographing my art prints, to help you to get a feel for the size and scale of the work, II stage them next to props. In the photos for this listing, I have shown one of my previous drawings. For clarity, please note that this purchase is for a custom A4 art print which will include your own pet drawing (along with an 11”x14” mount if you have chosen this option when adding the item to your basket). Any props (flowers, paper stars, picture stands, the vase, stationery etc.) shown in the listing photos are not included in the purchase. Thank you for your understanding.

Safety and product information:
When handling your order and its packaging, please do this slowly and with care to reduce the risk of paper cuts. To help the artwork to stay in pristine condition, where possible, please avoid touching the printed surface of the work and keep your purchase away from moisture and liquids.

This does not include any fixtures or fittings for hanging. When displaying your artwork, please position it safely and securely to reduce the risk of it falling. If you choose to frame your artwork, please follow your chosen frame manufacturer’s safety information and instructions to ensure that your artwork is displayed/hung safely and positioned in a safe area of your home. (Please note, your purchase does not include a frame.)

As the art print, mount and packaging are made from paper and card which may be flammable, please do not place the artwork, mount or packaging near candles, flames or anything that may cause the item or its packaging to catch fire.

Thank you.
